After A DUI Charge, You Need Proper Representation
Everybody makes mistakes. Getting pulled over for a DUI or drugged driving doesn’t have to be a permanent spot on your record. Many people aren’t sure what to do or where to start. The Law Office of William J. Parven, PLLC, has been helping clients throughout Arizona for over a decade. I am DUI defense attorney William Parven. I can look at your case and determine all of the possible options. Together, we can discuss your situation and fight for the best solution.
What You Can Expect
While driving under the influence of drugs can be more difficult to prove, it is still possible to be charged with this crime. The type of drug and how much is in your system can also have an influence on your case. Whether it be drugs or alcohol, most charges in Arizona are misdemeanors. However, depending on the circumstances, it can quickly become a felony. This happens when:
- You were driving with a suspended license
- You have two other DUIs within the last seven years
- A child below the age of 15 was in the car
- You failed to install a court-ordered interlock device in your vehicle
If this is your first offense, you could be looking at steep consequences. You could face up to six months in jail and pay up to $2,500 in fines. Other penalties include probation, community service and a license suspension. If this is a repeat offense, you could be facing a harsher sentence. You’re looking at a minimum of 30 days in jail and significant fines of more than $4,000.
Having an attorney who is not only familiar with, but who has also taken the police officer DUI stop training can be crucial to the aggressive defense of your rights.
